No doubt we want the best for our children, especially when it comes to education. Great schools can be measured in several ways, not only for the obvious value of providing an excellent education for our young citizens, as a long-time Realtor I can tell you the value of a preferred school or school district can be immense when it comes to the desirability of your home.

Sally ~ Thanks so much.
Marlene ~ Wow, what a nice compliment, thank you. (BTW, the checks in the mail).
Maggie ~ Thank you, glad to know you have those choices.
Good info. However, people should be aware that the Santa Ana schools are really in North Tustin/Tustin Foothills.
I highlighted some properties that have sold near these schools in my blog (http://orangecounty.redfin.com/blog/2007/11/north_tustin_near_good_schools_and_sold.html).
My wife and I actually became interested in Costa Mesa real estate in part because of the wonderful schools that are in and around the city. We have 3 children two of whom are already in school and we really wanted a place to raise them without having to worry about moving until they are adults. The award winning schools of Costa Mesa are what really helped us make a final decision as to where to move.
Hi Julie ~ Thank you for the distinction on Santa Ana Schools, although I thought that was applicable to some, yet not all Santa Ana schools???
Mr. Costa Mesa~ Thanks for stopping by, with 3 kids I can appreciate your interest in great schools. Costa Mesa is a great place for many reasons.
